  1. I used to have Nest thermostats but they would always turn on “rush hour rewards” on their own which allows the power company to change your temps during peak hours. I was tired of always having to call and opt-out of something I never opted-into, so replaced everything with ecobee which let’s you completely disable the “eco +” mode.

  2. I just recently (last week) my 2-stage heat pump compressor decided to fry itself. Ended up going to a single stage unit (Bryant) with a Nest 4th Gen. My old unit wasn’t cooling the house efficiently, it would cycle on every 9-10minutes (Probably why the compressor/condensor unit died). We’ll see how the next summer will be with this new unit.

  3. I believe the nest has a built in 1 degree temp swing, which can not be changed.
The Ecobee is preconfigured for 2 degree but can be changed.

  4. So basically … Nest thermostat is cumbersome and not user friendly, not to mention the remove user support every couple years to force you into buying the newest device even though they work just fine. Also, they no longer support the Nest thermostat which was way better than using the home app.

  5. Great video! So I’m wondering your thought on which one of these is best for a person who works from home?
