INIU USB C to USB C Cable 240W 2-Pack Fast Charging Cord PD3.1 Type C to Type C Charger Cable Review

-Spec wise, this cable supports PD 3.1, 240W charging but doesn’t state what USB version it is. (it’s 2)
-Physically, it’s a little thicker than the usually USBC cable, the cable is stiff as it holds its shape, the connector is metal BUT each head is different
-for length, I bought the 2m version and it’s 2cm longer
-the INIU cable is probably one of the most generous in terms of extra length…

Now charging performance
-had a hard time hitting 100W consistently
-VOltage drop of .73V which is above average
-Cable reisstance was a tiny bit higher at .22
-Even though it’s PD3.1, the cable only does USB2 data speeds
-Write speed was higher than average but read was a hair lower
-BUT mixed folder transfer is where the cable shards the bed
-it’s so slow…
-that’s a big red flag
Post bend, nothing changed for the charge tests
-but damn, the data was brutal
-average speed for the large files was 19 and 22
-for the mixed files, it wasn’t much better

General Testing Procedure:
Data:
– Data speeds were tested with a Samsung T9 Portable SSD connected to a M1 Mac Studio
– Tested 1, 5, 20 GB sized files and 1, 5 GB folders containing mixed files
– Data speeds were measured using fio
Charge:
– Charge speeds were measured using a 140W Apple Charger, a PowerZ KM003c and a Siglent Eload
– Charge speeds measured across 15, 27, 45, 60W rates
Bends:
– Bends were tested on a custom built bending platform
– Cables were bent to 90 degrees repeatedly, no pause at each bend
– Cable wasn’t hard clamped, it was held in place by a channel in the platform to allow for a bit of twisting
